Sigma Sport make a wide range of bicycle electronics from relatively simple to use to sophisticated machines which record altitude and heart rate as well as the more straightforward functions. We like the Sigma Sport computers as they have large displays, are easy to set-up and to use, and are reliable.
There are several models in the range:
- BC 5.0 - Automatic start/stop, day trip distance, actual speed, total distance, trip time, clock. UFSB compatible. This is one of the very easiest of all bike computers to install. Simply mount it on your bike, set the wheel size, and you're done. Wheel size can be entered either as a predefined tyres size in inches (e.g. "26 inch wheel") or in millimetres for precise measurement (circumference of the inflated tyre).
- BC 8.0 - Adds average speed, comparison with average, total ride time.
- BC 10.0 - Adds maximum speed, temperature and retention of settings while battery is replaced
- BC 12.0 - Adds 12 months of workout statistics, can be used on two bikes, low battery indicator
- BC 14.0 - Adds adjustable start altitude, current altitude, gradient, altitude uphill, maximum altitude, total altitude uphill
All Sigma computers are "watertight" to IPX8 (we've had no problems) and can be fitted without tools. All also have the UFSB ability to be linked to a computer for setup or to download recorded performance or programme service intervals, but this is not necessary. You can just use them as bike computers.
Where there is a choice of wired or wireless computers, we would recommend the wired unless there is a particular reason to want to use wireless. In our experience, wired computers tend to cause less hassle.
As with most of the things we sell, we use these computers ourselves and we expect them to last.
