Pedals
We use flat pedals on our upright bikes for everyday use. The Wellgo 868 is one of the best of these - it's got good bearings, is grippy, lasts for years and has no sharp edges which either damage your shoes or which are unpleasant to knock your shin against. For shorter distances and upright cycling, look no further. For riding longer distances, especially on a recumbent bicycle, we recommend SPD pedals and matching shoes as they make a difference to comfort and efficiency. Other clipless systems than SPD are available, but most have cleats which will damage wooden flooring or make walking difficult, so we consider those to be impractical. |
