Sometimes it can be inconvenient to have the "wrong" type of valve on your bike if the only available pump is for a different type of valve.
This adaptor allows you to pump up Schrader tubes with pumps for Woods or Presta valves (click for explanation of valve types). If you have Schrader valves and are touring in a country where Woods valves are most common, this is a very useful thing to carry.
The additional photos show how a Woods valve specific pump can be used with this adaptor to pump up a Schrader tube.
