A simple, but good quality, single speed crankset for square tapered bottom brackets.
When converting bikes to make them more practical it is often the case that there are simply too many gears. It's not especially beneficial to have a triple crankset for most practical use.
This crankset has aluminium crank arms, to keep weight down and for better appearance, combined with a steel chainring. Steel chainrings last much longer than aluminium. This applies even with relatively low cost steel vs. expensive aluminium components. Lower chainring wear helps to promote lower wear of the rest of the drive-chain.
This crankset is available with different numbers of teeth on the chainring. Larger numbers mean higher gears. If you feel your bike is undergeared at the moment, and your legs spin too quickly too much of the time, try to select a larger number of teeth. If you struggle up hills or to get started, select a smaller number of teeth.
The cranks are 170 mm in length - the most common length. The chainring is designed for 3/32nd chain.
The crankset can accommodate chainguards and chaincases. See the additional photos for dimensions.
