Forks

When replacing forks, the steerer tube diameter must be the same as that of your current forks. These can be of two sizes, either one inch (25.4 mm) or 1 1/8th inch (28.6 mm).

There are two different types of headset and stem. Either the threaded system with quill stem or the unthreaded A-head type system.

Dimension A is the length of the steerer tube. Dimension B is the length of the thread on a threaded stem. The steerer must be long enough for your frame, and can be cut down to the required length with a hacksaw. However, when doing this with a threaded stem there must be adequate thread left over to hold the headset in place. Please check dimensions carefully before ordering.

Other considerations with forks are to make sure that it is suitable for your wheel size and braking system. The fork shown also has a dynamo bracket.
