Hesling Excelle full chainguard / chaincase

A full chainguard for a 28" wheel bicycle made of sturdy ABS.

Keeps your clothes clean, but also keeps the chain clean and greatly reduces the maintenance of a bike used in the winter months.

The chain case comes in three parts. Top, bottom and removeable rear quarter. the extra removeable part makes oiling or replacing a chain much easier as you don't have to remove the entire chaincase to do these jobs. To feed a new chain through, first break the old chain and join the new to the old.

Measurements

To assist people who wish to mount this on an existing bike without a chainguard, the "additional images" include many photos showing close-ups of the chainguard, and dimensions of the cut-outs.

The distance between the centres of the cut outs for bottom bracket and rear wheel is 46 cm. However, there is some freedom with position as the cut-outs are quite large. It has to be possible to reposition your rear wheel to correctly tension the chain.

The overall external length of the chainguard is about 65 cm, height at the front is 20 cm and at the back it's about 13 cm.

It's designed for use with chainrings of 33 to 38 teeth at the front. Sizes just a little larger or smaller might also work.

Note that this chainguard is designed to be compatible with bicycles constructed of traditionally sized (diameter) tubing. Mounting it on a bike which has oversized tubing is possible but may require trimming away some of the plastic. This chainguard can only be used with hub gear or single speed bicycles. It is not suitable for use with a derailleur. We also have partial chainguards for derailleur gear bikes.
