Velomobile brake maintenance kit

Most velomobiles on the market use 70 or 90 mm Sturmey Archer drum brakes. These are very reliable and effective brakes, but the feel of the brakes in a velomobile can be a bit soft, and the effectiveness of the brakes is often not what it could be.

The main reason for soft brakes is that the cables absorb much of the effort. Replacing the standard cables with less compressible outer and teflon coated inner cables improves the brakes significantly.

This kit, for a Mango velomobile, includes the following items:

1. Two lengths of good quality brake outer cable (1.03 m each)
2. Two Teflon coated brake inner cables
3. Four ferrules

It is a little cheaper to order this set than the parts individually.
